VISION

Who Are We?

We are field representatives serving among the Japanese & Australian people of the Pacific Rim Region of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Now glory be to God! By His mighty power at work within us, He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. May He be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 New Living Translation

Our vision is based upon God's promise to do more than we could ever think or imagine.
`
  • Our purpose is to bring Glory to God. Therefore, we are intentionally laying our personal agendas and individual ambitions at the feet of Jesus.
  • Our task is to make reproducing disciples that result in reproducing churches. Therefore, we are deploying the bulk of our resources - personnel, time & finances - among the lost.
  • Our target is the unreached people in our target groups. Therefore, we are intentionally narrowing our ministry focus to the lost in our target groups.
Our prayer is that we will experience the miracle of an unexplainable, Holy Spirit initiated, movement of God among our target group people...
  • One that we can't create, calculate, manipulate, finagle or control...
  • One where we watch with wonder and amazement at God working...
  • One where there are 30 professing, multiplying Christians for every 1000 people...
  • One where 3 multiplying churches are established for every 1000 people...
  • One where multiplying national leaders take the initiative for reaching their own people...
  • One that is certainly unexplainable!
Our direction is to move intentionally & completely away from support roles for old established work and to re-embrace our missionary calling.
  • All personnel persistently & purposefully sharing the Gospel... out of the house and out among the lost of their target groups...
  • All personnel penetrating existing groups within the culture & sharing a direct gospel presentation with those they meet...
  • All personnel intentionally gathering NEW Christians for the purpose of worship... gathering in NEW communities of worship rather than taking NEW Christians to older, established churches... identifying and using models that are biblical, basic, simple, indigenous and reproducible...
  • All personnel aggressively & informally discipling & empowering indigenous leaders... using simple/basic discipleship that emphasizes scripture as the ultimate source/authority for all truth/teaching...
Our inspiration comes from the experiences of others like the person who penned the following prayers when contemplating his new CPM related assignment to another UPG. It is reported that all three prayers were answered.
  • God, please do something so supernatural that it can only be explained by the fact that God has done it.
  • God, please make the work last.
  • God, please don't let the work be dependent on me.
Our confidence comes from an unwavering faith in God to provide all that is needed to carry out the task. We will only embrace:
  • Visions that are Inspired by God
  • Plans that are Sustained by God
  • Resources that are Supplied by God
