Prayer Points for Australia
August, 2008

“I would be disobeying the Lord if I stopped praying for you!”
(I Samuel 12:23)

Please join us for our ‘Days of Prayer’ each Tuesday
(5th, 12th, 19th, 26th)

Pray each FRIDAY and SATURDAY for workers in Tasmania
(1st & 2nd, 8th & 9th, 15th & 16th, 22nd & 23rd, 29th & 30th)

Praise God for a wonderful week with our CPM Preparation Team from Mobile, AL.  Seven college students and 2 adult leaders came to help us with prayer walking, personal witnessing, and encouraging many of our people here.

Praise God for Joshua, a young man from one of our outlying towns who gave his life to the Lord. Pray for his growth and understanding of the Gospel and his obedience to Jesus.

Praise God for a wonderful Trainer's Retreat on 12 July. This was a gathering of many of the people we have trained so far, giving them a chance to meet one another and to encourage each other in the task of reaching Australia with the Gospel.

Pray for Jona and Stephanie, working in the Kingston and Margate area south of Hobart. This young family has a heart for reaching lost people throughout their region.

Pray for the many people in Hobart who have heard the Good News recently through our prayerwalking ventures, personal witnessing, and chance encounters.  Pray that God will reveal Himself to each person and draw them unto Himself.

Pray each SUNDAY for workers in NSW
(3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st)

Pray for Ken’s friend Adam, that the Lord will really deal with his heart and he will be asking more questions when we return from stateside.

Please pray for our newest Cousin team members Andy & Amy Beth. Pray that the dynamics of working together will be in such way that will produce great results for His Kingdom. Pray for them as they get themselves moved into a new house and culture and begin to engage their people group that they have been called to.

Pray that God will give our team wisdom as we look for ways and opportunities for outreach into one of the immigrant detention centers outside our target area.

Please pray that while one family is in the US they will have opportunities to share about our work among Cousins in Australia and that people will really be convicted and become burdened to commit to pray for us our team and our ministry in Australia.

Pray each MONDAY and TUESDAY and for workers in South Australia
(4th & 5th, 11th & 12th, 18th & 19th, 25th & 26th)

Keep praying for the Cuddlee Creek small group as they continue to become a church. This is a time of decision for the future for them. Thank the Lord as they continue to share their faith boldly with friends and family.

Pray for the Cafe group. Pray for the leaders Evan and Michelle. Pray that the Lord will bring forth fruit and harvest from those who come every day into the cafe.

Pray for us as we prepare to leave the work in South Australia for the next eight months for our time stateside. Pray that we will trust Him to continue the good work He has begun in the lives of those we work and share with here.

Pray for our neighbor Frank. Please pray for more opportunities to share with him in the next few weeks. We so want to keep in touch with him while we are away. Pray that the Lord would work in his life!

Pray that the Lord would bring forth a harvest of seeds sown by all our nineteen U.S. student interns that have served all over Australia for the past eight weeks.  Give thanks for these young people that they have willingly been obedient to God working in and through their lives and that the Lord would truly bless their lives as they return to the realities of their campuses in the U.S. and share their stories.

Pray each WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY for workers in Northern Territory
(7th, 14th, 21st, 28th)

Praise the Lord that 7 years ago we came to share our lives and the love and forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ with our target people group the Australian Aborigines. God has been so faithful to us and answered so many of our prayers in His own time and way.

Due to a treaty agreement reached between the U.S. and Australia concerning the residency status on us and also our other IMB personnel, we are having to leave Australia for six months to be in compliance. To do this we are being transferred temporarily to the Philippines for 6 months. We will be working alongside our IMB colleagues there, ministering to the tribal group in Batangas, Philippines.

Pray for our journey and spiritual protection in the Philippines, that God will lead us to those among the Filipinos who are in need of hearing the Gospel. Praise God that Carmen will be able to speak and share the Gospel in her own heart language.  Pray that God will open their hearts and minds as this wonderful good news of salvation to people that those who don’t know Him yet.

Pray for our people group in Australia the Warlpiri and Gurindji tribes. Pray that they will continue the work that we have started in the Warlpiri Camp Community and Pigeon Hole Aboriginal Community. Pray that our local leaders will be found faithful as they continue to serve the Lord. Pray that God will give them the enthusiasm and encouragement to minister to their own people while we are away.

We praise God for and Aussie mission team from Adelaide, South Australia that arrived safely on July 5-15 2008. They travelled here to the outback in Katherine, visiting in 3 different Aboriginal communities in Katherine, Kalkaringi and Lajamanu ministering to the children, youth and adults. They did sports ministry, skits and drama, Bible storytelling, singing praises to God, sharing personal testimonies and much more. We praise God that there were those from our people group that participated in this endeavor.  PTL!

We praise God that after many months of attending the Bible study at the Warlpiri Camp, Clarence S. accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. Pray for his continuing spiritual journey, that he will grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and bear witness to his family and kinfolks.
